Brett Moller

  • The quintessential country solicitor, and 4th generation Gordonvale cane farmer, Brett Moller is committed to providing a high quality professional service to the local community.

Brett was educated locally before completing his secondary education at the Brisbane Grammar School in Brisbane. He then went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree at the Australian National University in Canberra, followed by a Bachelor of Law degree from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane.

Brett has an excellent understanding of local issues, and a reputation for providing the best legal advice regarding the operation and management of farms in the local area.

With an extensive career in the legal profession, Brett has practiced both in North Queensland and South West Queensland within a range of rural industries. His rural experience has involved the buying and selling of cattle properties in the Gulf, Dairy Farms on the Atherton Tablelands, Sugar Cane and Banana Farms on the coast from Mossman to Tully/Mission Beach.

Brett's South West Queensland experience was in the cotton, grain, sheep and cattle belt of Goondiwindi and St George where many of the transactions also involved transfers of water allocations and water licences.

The legal work and Brett’s experience is not just confined to rural transactions but to also commercial work for property investors, business owners, landlords, tenants, community associations and the people and families of the regional centres.

Brett Moller is a decisive professional; his excellent legal and rural knowledge and background makes him one of the more prominent solicitors and well known identities in the region. And yes – he’s as approachable and down to earth as they get!

Areas of law
  • Brett’s rural background is where his expertise lies and it is in all areas of rural law. From the property transactions, to the partnership or company structures necessary to operate the business, the family agreements that need to be put in place in terms of family run and owned businesses, and the succession planning for the retirement of parents and exit plans and strategies for partners and family members. This commercial experience extends across to all property and business acquisitions as well as retail shop leases and commercial leases whether it be for Landlord or Tenant. Brett gets  great satisfaction from negotiating outcomes which meet clients expectations and brings benefit to his clients and their businesses.
Industry experience
  • Being the owner and operator of a Sugar Cane Farm and a Director on the Board of the Sugar Mill that manufactures the sugar in addition to being a partner at Marino Moller Lawyers, gives Brett an insight into many of the issues confronting primary producers.

As a small business owner in a regional centre in terms of the law practice, Brett again has the day to day experiences that many small business owners have in the operation of their business.

In the practice of Marino Moller Lawyers, Brett has seen to the marketing and business development of the firm through presentations and seminars to the Real Estate Industry, Banking and Finance Institutions, Chambers of Commerce, Business Networking Associations, Employer and Employee Groups, and the like on legal matters topical and relevant to them.
