John Eylander

John Eylander joins our team specialising in Personal Injuries Litigation and Building and Construction Litigation. John has more than 10 years experience in personal injury matters having completed articles with a plaintiff personal injuries practice and then with WorkCover Queensland. John was called to the private bar 2001 specialising in personal injuries law. He was based in Brisbane. John was lured to the far north in 2007 and returned to practice as a solicitor.
John has many years experience representing the Queensland Building Services Authority before the Commercial and Consumer Tribunal (and formerly the Queensland Building Tribunal) and appeals to the Court. He has expertise with the licensing, compliance, dispute and insurance scheme and has been involved in all areas of commercial and residential building disputes. He is a mediator with the Commercial and Consumer Tribunal.
John was previously involved with the Aquarium Industry and has experience with various projects across Australia including public aquariums. He has been involved with a number of aquarium societies, television appearances, written articles, and given presentations on various topics. He enjoys travelling that incorporates diving and surfing.
John has completed a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Arts. John’s studies have taken him to China where he obtained a Certificate in Chinese Law from the East China University of Politics and Law in Shanghai and to Indonesia for his Masters thesis.
