Kelly Reaston

Kelly Reaston – Associate

  • Born and raised in Cairns, Kelly relocated to Brisbane to complete a dual degree in Law and Science at the Queensland University of Technology.

    Having spent a few years working at a leading investment bank in London and travelling through Europe, Kelly returned to Cairns to build a career in town planning and Local Government Law.

    During her legal training Kelly gained experience in Commercial Law, Wills and Estates, Property Law, Local Government, and Planning Law. Since her admission, Kelly has predominantly practised in Local Government, Property Development, and Planning and Environment Law. These practice areas include local laws and delegations, easements, covenants, road resumptions closures and openings, reconfigurations, residential and commercial conveyancing, planning appeals, and associated town planning and local government matters.

    Kelly is dedicated to resolving matters for both parties by focusing on negotiation and dispute resolutions.  Her approach ensures a time and cost effective solution that satisfies the outcome for all parties involved.

Clients
  • Kelly’s clients include a number of small and large business operators, residential owners and regional councils.  Recently Kelly represented an applicant for the development approval of over 150 residential lots and a commercial precinct.  The application was one of the largest in the Yungaburra district and required referral to a number of state government agencies. On behalf of her client, Kelly successfully negotiated a development permit for the residential lots and a preliminary approval for the commercial precinct, without proceeding to a hearing.
