Linda Barlow – Partner

  • Linda Barlow has a successful international career and good local reputation in the community.

    Linda leads the Marino Moller Litigation section and has done since 1999.  Linda also provides dedicated support and assistance in the areas of Will drafting and Estate administration.

    Linda commenced her career as Legal Adviser and then Leading Advocate for the New Zealand Freezing Industry Companies Association.  In 1981 she was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand, in 1982 as a Barrister and Solicitor in Papua New Guinea, and in 1984 she was admitted as a Solicitor in the State of Victoria and the State of Queensland, Australia.

    In 1982 Linda Barlow moved to Rabaul in Papua New Guinea and was employed as a general practice solicitor until 1984 when she returned to Brisbane.  In 1986 she returned to Papua New Guinea to work in Lae and in 1991 she became the Managing Partner of the Lae branch of a large legal practice.  Shortly after moving to Cairns in 1998 Linda joined the Marino Moller team and became a Partner in 2007.

    Linda has substantial experience in general practice and has chosen litigation, estate administration as her preferred areas of law.

Clients
  • Linda acts on behalf of clients with family law matters and disputes.  Recently, Linda represented a client who had been shut out of his matrimonial home, was facing loosing his personal possessions and his vehicle.  Proceedings were filed and progressed to a financial conference where the client had expected to settle on his possessions and a sum of $30,000.  As a direct result of Linda’s preparations, her client was successfully able to settle on $35,000, his possessions, his vehicle and a complete indemnity for any mortgage liability.
